If you are interested in studying law, any major that you enjoy and find rewarding is acceptable for law school. The best preparation is a broad liberal arts background that includes courses that strengthen your command of English; develop your ability to think clearly, concisely and logically; and increase your understanding of human institutions and values.
Although there is no one course or sequence of courses you must take to gain admission to a law school, you should avoid taking courses on a pass/fail basis. If you are taking directed study courses, keep in mind that law school admissions committees may question their content and level of difficulty as they do not have titles.
There are many courses and majors that can contribute to a strong background for law school. Law schools prefer challenging courses that relate one another without appearing narrow or vocationally oriented; and they want to see a pattern of intellectual growth.
